Overview.

When embarking on a 6 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will witness the world’s strongest water Murchison Falls in Murchison Falls National Park, and track the rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on your way to the park. On the second day of your safari, you will have a morning game drive and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

When you arrive in the park, you will take on a boat cruise experience at Kazinga channel in addition to Mongoose tracking in the afternoon. You will later finalize your trip by trekking the impenetrable forests of Bwindi for the endangered mountain gorillas before heading back to Entebbe for your departure flight.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

On arrival to the Pearl of Africa, our professional guide will anxiously be waiting for you at the airport in Entebbe to transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rhino safari experience.

At the sanctuary, you will be welcomed by the rangers who will guide you to the endangered white rhinos. You will spend some time in their presence as they graze and also you will learn about the conservation campaigns that are in place to conserve and protect the white rhinos.

Day 2: Game Drive and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning after your, breakfast our guide will prepare you for the morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. Game viewing is a highly rewarding activity in Murchison with artistic landscapes from the elephant plants to the herds of buffaloes and elephants grazing on the savannah grasslands.

As you widen up your game drive, meet individual giraffes grazing on the tallest acacia trees in the park not to mention the large numbers of kobs. This will be on your way to the world’s strongest waterfall, the Murchison Falls. The sheer power and greatest force of Mother Nature unfolds right before you see. At this moment you will know why Uganda is the best safari destination in the world. After devouring your lunch, you will commence on a 6-hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park and check in your lodge on arrival.

Day 3: Boat cruise and afternoon mongoose tracking.

Take your delicious breakfast and jump on the road to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The boat cruise will take you to the calm water side of the park best known for housing over 5,000 hippos. Be sure to view them as they relax in the water waiting for the cover of darkness and go to graze. Elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, waterbucks, impalas, and many more animals can be spotted while on a boat cruise.

In the afternoon after your breakfast, you will head to the park offices for a short briefing on mongoose tracking. A professional armed guide ranger will guide you on foot to the park and track the mongoose in the wild as they hunt for food. You will also observe the network of mongoose dens. It will not take you long to track the mongoose down since you will be with a researcher who will guide you and help you to track them down.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After you have checked out from your lodge and finished your breakfast, you will commence on a 5-hour journey to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is the home to the largest population of endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and Cultural tours

Our guide will pick you up immediately after your breakfast and head to the headquarters of the park. At the headquarters of the park, you will be grouped in 8 and after the briefing about the expected code of conduct around the gorillas, a professional range will lead the way into the charted impenetrable forest of Bwindi. Mountain gorillas live in families scattered across different regions in the park. The process of trekking in the park is both healthy and fun because by walking you will be burning off some extra fats in your body and again the entertaining jumps from tree to tree by the small primates like vervet monkeys, colobuses monkeys among others.

After the mountain gorillas have been sought, you will be given an hour to observe them as they feed and do their daily activities in their natural habitats. In the afternoon when you are done with your lunch, you will visit the Batwa communities around the park. You will be entertained by their traditional songs and dances on arrival, and they will tell you about their ancient and learn about their day-to-day lives. The Batwa pygmies are the first people to live in the forest and that is why they are considered the forest keepers. After your 5-hour cultural experience with the Batwa pygmies, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and rest for the night.

Day 6: Departure to Kampala, via equator

In the morning after your last delicious breakfast on this epic safari adventure, you will be transferred back to Entebbe for your scheduled flight back home. You will however have a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe to take some photos.
