5 Days Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara Safari is such a sensational trip that will bring you closer to wildlife that Kenya boasts to have. In these 5 days, you will have a great opportunity to visit 2 national parks with highest chances to encounter Africa’s Big 5 which are elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions and leopards. Other animals to be marked on your list are; giraffes, hippopotamuses, kobs, impalas, vultures, flamingos on Lake Nakuru, not forgetting the endless rolling green plains that will arouse your love for nature.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Masai Mara national reserve.

on the first leg of your safari, company representative will pick you from the Airport or at the hotel, he will brief you about the 5 days Nakuru and Masai Mara Safari, after briefing, you will hit the road to Masai Mara and as you approach the gate, you will have a stopover for a view of the great rift valley. Thereafter proceed to the reserve, connect to your camp, check in and this will be time for lunch, you will enjoy a hot lunch, relax then engage in an evening game drive near the lodge to spot some animals that will be lingering around the accommodation. At the dusk, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2&3: Full day game drives in Masai Mara

These two days are the most eventful ones and you should rejoice because you are going to encounter Africa’s big 5 and on a lucky moment you will find lions or cheetahs making a kill. You will encounter herds of wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, prides of lions, be sure to meet cheetahs which are the fastest animals on land in the whole world, you will see zebras, hyenas, to mention but a few.

Enjoy picnic lunch while you are at the animal view point and if you visit Masai Mara during a dry season in June to September, expect to encounter wildebeest migration.

Day 4: Game drive and transfer to Lake Nakuru

Arise in the morning for a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the jungle to capture some moments and to spot some animals that you will have missed previously. Later check out of the lodge and transfer to Lake Nakuru. Arriving at Lake Nakuru will be at lunch time, connect to your lodge accommodation, check in, have lunch and later go for a beautiful evening launch cruise at the lake.

You will be pleased to find the lake decorated with pinky color of the flamingos, you will enjoy picture moments, and sunset while you are on the cruise and animals will be at the shores quenching their thirst.

Day 5: Game drive and transfer to Nairobi

On the last day of your safari, wake up in the early morning, take in a very scrumptious breakfast, get your luggage and check out of the lodge. This will give you a chance to catch the animals when they are still very active, you will spot buffaloes, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests among other animals.

Later exit the park and embark on your journey to Nairobi. Arrive in the city at lunch time, grab a hot lunch and depending on your flight time, your safari driver will drop you at the Airport or at the hotel. This will mark the end of your 5 Days Nakuru and Masai Mara safari.
