Overview
The 3-day Rwanda Trekking Safari takes you to Volcanoes National Park home to mountain gorillas. This tour allows you to spend ample time of hour with face-to-face interaction with the gorillas in the jungle, then have optional and like visiting Lake Kivu or the gorilla guardian village.
The climax of this tour will be visiting Kigali city where famous attractions like the genocide memorial ground of Kigali, Kimironko market, art and gallery centres, local restaurants will be missed. Create memories as you enjoy wildlife, culture and nature on this great short tour.
Detailed Itinerary
Day1. Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Be picked by an assigned driver guide at any agreed point in Kigali the capital city of Rwanda. The journey will last for about 3 hours. Enjoy the countryside of Rwanda covered with green vegetation and rolling hills hence the name “the land of a thousand hills” originates. Volcanoes National Park is among a few conservation areas in the Virunga massif where you can locate the endangered mountain gorillas. Arrive and be served with dinner at the lodge as you wide up with the day.
Day2. Gorilla trekking and optional activity
Wake up excited and jolly to meet the endangered and rare species of gorillas in their natural home. The day will begin with breakfast and the driver guide will take you to the briefing point at the park headquarters offices. The park guide ranger will and you through the rules and regulations such as not feeding wildlife, keeping your distance all the time, not using a flashlight camera and many more others.
The search will begin in the jungle as you expect to walk long distances while Hiking because these beautiful apes can be found in the highland areas (between 1600 to 4000m above sea level) as they are called the mountain gorillas. There are other attractions you can enjoy such as vervet monkeys, olive baboons, colobus monkeys and many more. Spend an hour in the presence of these beautiful primates and this will create everlasting memories through capturing photos.
After the trek which can last for over 5 hours, trek back to the lodge for lunch. This will be followed by an optional activity like visiting Lake Kivu or the gorilla guardian village.
Day3. Head back to Kigali, city tour and departure flight
Enjoy your last breakfast for this tour which will be followed by a transfer to Kigali. Arrive after a 3-hour drive and engage in a Kigali city tour where the genocide memorial grounds a historical place marking the 1994 genocide wars, visit Kimironko Market which displays both fresh fruits and vegetables plus clothing, art and galley areas and many more others.
After, the driver guide will take you to the airport for your departure flight and this will be after enjoying a local meal at one of the restaurants. This will mark the end of 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour.
