Overview
3 days Lowland Gorillas is an amazing piece of a safari that will allow you to visit 2 countries that is Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. The safari will start from Rwanda and end in Rwanda. Lowland gorillas in Congo are found in Kahuzi Biega National Park which is in the southern part near Bukavu town. Lowland gorillas are different from mountain gorillas and this will give you a great chance to taste the difference.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bukavu near Kahuzi-Biega national park
On your first leg of your safari, our driver guide will pick you from the hotel or at the airport, he will brief you about your safari and then transfer you Bukavu via Rusizi border. Expect to travel for quite good hours about 8, but this will involve picnic lunch, sightseeing and stretching. After you have cleared at the border, proceed to Bukavu town, check in your hotel, have dinner and enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 2: Lowland Gorilla trekking
Arise in the early morning, grab yourself a delicious breakfast, get your lunch packed and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking will take you about 4hours including 1hour you are given to spend with the gorillas at a distance of 10meters.
After you have enjoyed the presence of gorillas and capturing every moment, return to the headquarters to meet your driver who will take you back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Check out and transfer back to Kigali
On the 3rd day of your trip, greet your intestines with a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer back to Kigali. This is another 8hours drive through the thick forests of Congo and green covering of Rwanda hills. You will have a scrumptious lunch at Butare museum, stretch and later embark on the journey to Kigali, arriving in the evening hours and be dropped at the Airport or at the hotel depending on your next destination.
