Detailed of the Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, our professional guide will already there be waiting for you. He will transport you to your booked hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
In the morning after your breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary from where you will have a rhino tracking session before going to the park. Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a highly anticipated activity by most of the visitors who come to Uganda since it is the only place in Uganda to trek rhinos.
The last white rhino in Murchison Falls National Park succumbed to death at the hands of poachers in 1983. Since then there have been efforts to reintroduce the rhinos to some national parks. Rhino trekking is an experience like no other because you get to spend time with these endangered heavyweights. The rhinos at Ziwa are quite friendly because they are used to people so you can get a chance to come up close to them and take some photos. In the evening you with embark on a journey to Murchison Falls National Park and arrive at your lodge just in time for dinner.
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
In the morning you will be picked up by our professional guide and head inside the park for a game drive. Game drives in Murchison Falls National Park are quite adventurous because it is the period you get to see the wild animals in their natural habitats in the comfort of your vehicle. Elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas, and warthogs, among others, are some of the animals that can be viewed while on a game drive.
The main highlight of the game drive is witnessing the power and roar of Murchison Falls, the strongest waterfall in the world. As you approach the falls, you will be welcomed by a strong roar heard from a mile away and a beautiful rainbow passing over the falls. In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat cruise experience on the Victoria Nile. The boat cruise gives exceptional views of the animals and also the diverse landscape and vegetation on the banks of the river. Having a glimpse of the sun setting over the Victoria Nile is an artistic view worth the entire effort of the hike.
Day 4: Transfer to Semuliki National Park and tour the hot springs
You will start your 6-hour journey to Semuliki National Park immediately after a solid breakfast and check out at the lodge. Semuliki National Park is located southwest of Murchison. On arriving in the park you will be guided to the main face of the park which is the hot springs. Sempaya hot springs are the most sought-after attraction because of their nature.
Boiling water reaching over 100 degrees Celsius shoots out of rock from the earth’s surface and it never stops to flow. This beautiful feature is the reason why most visitors flock to the park.
Day 5: Bird watching, cultural tours and transfer to Kibale National Park
The following day after your delicious breakfast, you will head for a birding experience like no other. Semuliki National Park is rich with over 441 bird species which include long-tailed hawk, yellow-throated cuckoo, Nkulengu rail, piping hornbill, and spot-breasted Ibis among others. These bird species at the park include not only the resident birds and migratory birds but also over 23 Albertine Rift Valley endemics and 35 Guinea-Congo forest biome. These birds can be spotted on different birding trails such as the Sempaya nature walk trail, Kirumia trail, and River Semuliki among others with the help of professional and experienced birding guides.
After a wonderful birding experience, you will further head for a cultural tour and meet the local people of the land. Semuliki is surrounded by the Batwa pygmies, Kasesenge, Rwebisengo, and Ntoroko communities. You will learn the different cultural ways and history of the people from these communities. These people will entertain you with traditional dresses and songs. After an amazing cultural experience, you hit the road to Kibale National Park.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and tour of Bigodi wetland sanctuary
Our professional guide will pick you up from your lodge after your breakfast and drive you to Kibale National Park for the briefing preparing you for chimpanzee trekking. The park will allocate you a professional guide who will guide the chimpanzees after you have been grouped. It does not take you long before see these great apes in their natural habitat because Kibale National Park hosts over 15,000 of these chimpanzees. You will have a precious one hour with the chimpanzees after they have been found. Being in the presence of these primates and witnessing them as they feed and communicate with themselves is a feeling like no other.
Scientifically we share 98.7% of our human DNA with these chimpanzees, what a great feeling to be in the presence of our wild cousins. After an hour the rangers will guide you back and our guide will take you to your lodge for lunch. In the evening, you will take a 4-kilometer walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary a jungle wetland in the park. This wetland is home to over 200 bird species and about 8 primate species like the black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons, and L’Hoest monkeys to mention but a few.
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and evening boat cruise
The following day after breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey will be a memorable one since you will see the scenic views of the landscape and green tea plantations and also tour the local tea-making factory. You will arrive at the park in the evening just in time for a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel.
This is the best time to spot several animals like elephants, hippos, buffaloes, waterbucks, and crocodiles to mention but a few. You will also witness some hippos heading out from the water to graze because hippos feed under the night cover to avoid the heat of the day. You will then be driven to your booked lodge for the night.
Day 8: Game viewing in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will go for a morning game drive to the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Game drives in Ishasha provide you with the best views of the landscape and the diverse wild animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, and hyenas among others.
If you are in luck you get to witness the rare tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. They are usually spotted in the early mornings resting on branches of fig trees and cactus trees. After your lunch at the lodge, you will check out and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community tour
In the morning after your breakfast, you will head to the park offices for a briefing about the rules and regulations when you are in the presence of the mountain gorillas. Bwindi hosts over 480 mountain gorillas and this is about half of the entire world population of mountain gorillas. You will be grouped in groups of 8 and a professional ranger will guide you on a gorilla trekking experience. Your trekking experience will involve walking through the thick vegetation and forest while maneuvering the tough terrain. You will also be entertained by other primate species like vervet monkeys, and L’Hoest’s monkeys among others jumping from tree to tree.
After you have reached the mountain gorillas, you will be given an hour in their presence. In the afternoon you will take on a tour of the communities of the Batwa that stay close to the park. The Batwa pygmies lived in the park for a while before it was gazette as a national park. Batwa are considered forest keepers because they lived and survived in the park for a long time by gathering fruits, hunting small animals, and building small huts for shelter. They now live around the park trading, and they have also been involved in conservation efforts of the endangered mountain gorillas. You will learn a lot when you visit their communities from the history tales of their past told by their elders, to their current livelihoods.
Day 10: Return to Kampala
After you have had your delicious breakfast, you will be transferred to Kampala for departure. There will be a stopover at the equator at Kayabwe for a photo moment. Our driver will then drop you at the airport for departure or a hotel of your choice. This will be the end of our 10 days Uganda Safari and we hope to see you again.
